Town ‘N Country Garden Circle 5th Annual Garden
Tour and
5th Annual Plant Sale Sunday, April 20
The Town ‘N Country Garden Circle will hold its 5th annual Garden Tour and
Plant sale on Sunday afternoon, April 20 at the Town ‘N Country Rec Center
6039 Hanley Road.
Tour of Gardens: registration at 1
PM and garden tour from1:30 PM - 3:30 PM. Buffet and door prizes at 3:30
PM when folks return to the Rec Center.
This year the garden tour will feature gardens in Dana Shores
subdivision. There will be 6 gardens to tour. Tickets for the tour will
be $10 which includes the buffet and door prizes.
Tickets for the garden tour can be purchased at the door on Sunday, April
20.
Please no children on garden tour.
Plant sale: will be held at the
Town ‘N Country Rec Center from noon to 5 PM. Plants and shrubs are grown
by garden circle members in their gardens so you know they will grow in
your garden. An example of the selection includes hibiscus, plumbago,
Indian hawthorn, African bush daisies, jacaranda, loquat, ti plant,
bougainvillea, angle trumpet and more. . Most plants are 50 cents to $5.
The plant sale is co-hosted by the garden circle and Hillsborough County
Parks, Recreation and Conservation
Proceeds from the tour and plant sale will be used to beautify the
Shimberg Gardens area next to our new library on Paula Drive when it is
completed in 2010.
All unsold plants will be donated to beautify Morganwoods Park.
The garden circle is looking for donations of plants from residents for
the plant sale in 1 gallon or 3 gallon containers.

| The circle holds monthly educational meetings from September to May at the Recreation Center located at 6039 Hanley Rd. We have a Master Gardner or other expert gardener at 1:00 PM to educate us on various gardening tips. Recent topics have been hassle free house plants, high color/low maintenance, landscape design, floral design, bulbs, ferns, gardening 101, and herb and spice gardening. We also beautify the Town 'N Country community. Our current projects include gardening at the following schools, Leto High, Bellamy Elementary, Town 'N country Elementary, and Woodbridge Elementary. Parks projects are Jackson Springs, Town 'N Country Greenway, Town 'N Country Recreation Center. In addition we previously maintained the atrium at the West Gate Regional Library for the Friends of the West Gate Regional Library. If you are interested in beautifying your garden or beautifying the community, you need to join us. Annual dues are $35. single or $42. for a couple And you automatically become a member of the Tampa Garden Club on Bayshore Blvd., The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, and the National Garden Club. We have all levels of expertise from novice to master gardener. But one goal, to improve our gardening. | ||
